Learn about the UEFA and FIFA approved small-sided game. On this course you will be introduced to a number of practices from which the basic technical demands of Futsal can be developed.
The FA Level 1 in Coaching Futsal is a vocational course that provides you with an opportunity to develop an awareness of both the practical and theoretical aspects of Futsal coaching.
You will gain an insight into the game in England, how it is played and how you can coach to better support the development of future players.
Introduction to the course objectives, programme and expectations of learners
Introduction to game of Futsal - its history, recent development and participation
The FIFA Futsal Laws of the game
Tutor-led practical coaching sessions that covers the following topics: control, passing, shooting, defending, player movement/fainting and travelling with the ball
Review of the practical activities and consolidation of the learning outcomes
Next steps, personal action plan, feedback and evaluation
Course Pre-requisites
Prior to registration, learners are required to:
• Be accurately identified
• Be at least 16 years of age
• Hold as a minimum a current FA Emergency Aid / FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF)
• Have attended The FA Safeguarding Children Workshop within the last three years, or completed the re-certification*
*upon course completion these qualifications must remain in date to achieve certification.
Outcomes
This course will provide you with an understanding of the techniques and skills related to the game of Futsal. By the end of the course you will be able to:
- List the 6 core technical strands of the game
- Identify 6 key area relating to the laws of the game
- Describe the current development pathways and estimated participation rates in England

For The FA Level 2 and FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football courses you must book your place with the County FA that your club is affiliated to. This is to ensure appropriate in-situ support can be provided throughout the course.
For other courses you may be able to book with a different County FA. So if you live close to another county, have a look at their website to see if they have suitable dates.
